More Seasons - Winter

I struggled initially with trying to make a winter card from the swap parcel but in the end chose an image that I had received in a previous swap and coloured it with my Promarkers. Then the ideas started flowing and apart from the glitter strip and the greeting everything else came from the parcel.

More Seasons - Autumn

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells.
Who hath not seen thee oft amid thy store?
Sometimes whoever seeks abroad may find
Thee sitting careless on a granary floor,
Thy hair soft-lifted by the winnowing wind;
Or on a half-reap'd furrow sound asleep,
Drows'd with the fume of poppies, while thy hook
Spares the next swath and all its twined flowers:
And sometimes like a gleaner thou dost keep
Steady thy laden head across a brook;
Or by a cider-press, with patient look,
Thou watchest the last oozings hours by hours.
Where are the songs of Spring? Ay, where are they?
Think not of them, thou hast thy music too,-
While barred clouds bloom the soft-dying day,
And touch the stubble-plains with rosy hue;
Then in a wailful choir the small gnats mourn
Among the river sallows, borne aloft
Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies;
And full-grown lambs loud bleat from hilly bourn;
Hedge-crickets sing; and now with treble soft
The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft;
And gathering swallows twitter in the skies.
(John Keats)
This card sums up some the words in that poem.  A tractor in a field of harvested corn.  Everything except the greeting came from the swap parcel from Terri.

More Seasons - Summer

I chose this lovely image for my summer card from Terri's swap parcel.  I teamed it with a piece of green paper which I embossed with Cuttlebug Divine Swirls embossing folder as I thought it looked like waves.  I mounted the image on a piece of black card from my snippets box and rifled my odd snippets of ribbon and then found a greeting.

More seasons - Easter

I opened my swap parcel from Terri and I instantly had two cards in mind and then a third followed very quickly.  What was wrong; it is never usually this easy.  The next day I had two more planned and made.

These are the two Easter cards I made.

Christmas in March

One of the challenges for this year with my friends is to make a Christmas card each month and preferably using something we might have been given during our Advent Parcels Swap.

This card is simple .... it is CAS.

I used a piece of patterned paper from my snippets and the clear acrylic stamp that was from the Advent swap.  I then used a greeting from a set of Christmas stamps that I have. This card is not on the wonk, unlike the last card.  However I tried to make it a little different and mounted the image and backing paper off the edge of the card and cut that piece off.

Winter

This is my final card from my March swap parcel with Pat.  I found three toning pieces of blue paper from my snippets box and layered up the patterned paper, the image that I coloured with Promarkers and the greeting.  I used some glitter strip and stuck everything down at a wonk on a piece of card embossed using my Cuttlebug

Summer

I loved this image the moment I saw it.  I don 't for the life of me think I have done the picture true justice but I was very pleased with my attempt with Promarkers.

Eveything came from the swap parcel except for the darker blue snippet on which I placed the greeting.  I punched the edge of the paleblue paper which reminded me of waves with its streaks in it.

Halloween

I don't normally make Halloween cards but I couldn't resist making this one from my March swap parcel.  I like to put my own twist on things and decided on an orange dress rather than a black one!!

Into March we go

It has been so lovely to see the sun after all those weeks and weeks of rain.  Everyone seems to much more cheerful as they go about their lives; sun on their faces and a spring in their step!!

So this months swap parcels topic seemded just right .... 4 Seasons.  I chose to make this as a spring card.  I coloured the digital image with Promarkers

...and this one as an Easter card.

Let's go fly away

Here is another card using my favourite butterfly die from Marinne Creatables.  I cut the butterfly from some old Christmas cracker wrapper and took a piece of mirror card from my snippets box.  I also stamped and embossed an image on a piece of blank card from my snippets box.  Put them together and voila .......
