Cat

I made three cards from my swap parcel from Terri and this is my favourite.  I really love black and yellow together as it makes a lovely bright card.

The image had rounded corners and so I rounded the corners of all my layers.  The yellow embossed card came with the parcel. I used some black card out of my snippets box so I could do some contrast layers and I also used one of my white peel off greetings.  This lovely black nd yellow ribbon that was in the parcel just finished the card off nicely.

Country scene

This is my final card from Pat's swap parcel.  Pat had used embossing powder on the image as the theme was around every card should have something embossed on it.  It was a lovely image but yet again I struggled as to how to make a card from it.  I didn't have the inspiration that Terri had with a similar image :-(

I mounted the image on coloured card and added a greeting and a few little punched flowers which I then coloured with Promarkers.

Kingfisher

This is another card made from my swap parcel from Pat.  It was a lovely printed image but I really hadn't an idea how to make a card out of it.  I mounted it on my card and then pondered how to finish it off.  In the end I took a greeting and mounted on an embossed snippet leftover from my previous card.  I used some of the included little white butterflies and coloured them with my Promarkers.

One for the playground

After the shennanigans in the playground last week I thought I ought to bring back a serious tone and made this little congratulations card.  I reckon it is just right to congratulate people who have just graduated or done well at school.  Such a wise old owl.

I made the card from my swap parcel with Pat.  The theme this month is "embossing".  I had to find a few scraps of toning paper from my snippets box to make the owl stand out.  Simple card for a simple person, that's me!!

I am entering this card in this week's playground challenge over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

Pastel Baby card

I delved around in the snippets boxes and found a lovely selection of yellow and cream snippets to make this card.  A piece of checked yellow paper from a Craftworkscards pack - Ice Cream Parlour; a yellow bow and some ribbons from my ribbon box and a little bear that I mounted on a diecut shape I was given a long time ago.  I edged a tag shaped piece of card in gold before stamping the greeting in gold too.  I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the white card at the top.

Pearl Anniversary

One of my friends recently had her pearl wedding anniversary.  She still maintains she is not old enough to be married that long .... and she expects us to believe that!!!

This is the card I made for her using the Cuttlebug Concentric Hearts die that I won earlier this year from Pixie's Crafty Workshop.

I embossed some white card with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and wrapped some pale green striped ribbon round (Pat loves strippity!!) before mounting it on the base card.  I then cut the hearts and the number 30 from some dark green card I had in my stash and on one of the hearts I placed three little pearls.

Hooded Poncho

I am still enjoying my journey through the land of crochet.  I am sticking to baby garments at the moment whilst I learn different stitches and how patterns are written.  I might launch out into bigger items when I am more confident.

All the 4ply baby patterns I am finding at the moment seem to be very similar in that they use rows of trebles so I am quite happy with doing those but this garment was a new pattern to me and I learned things like reverse double crochet.  Probably the hardest bit was picking up and stitching an edge round the hood and the opening ....wasn't easy to get it looking even.

This item has gone in my charity bag ready for my next trip up to Kids Co.

Sail Away

I had a customer who bought one of my cards I had made from our nautical swap parcels.  It had a little wooden boat on it and she recently asked whether I could make another card the same.  Well I was stumped as I had only had one of those little boats in the parcel and I looked in a couple of shops and couldn't find another one.  I did promise I would make a few cards she could choose from and hope I have made her a reasonable choice.  This is one of the cards I have made from snippets of paper left over from my nautical parcel.  I knew they would come in useful sometime.  Instead of a wooden boat I used my Craft Robo to cut a silhouette of a yacht.

This is not a good photo because I took it this evening; it seems to have a slight greenish tinge as it is coloured paper onto white cardstock.

Fifty

I made this card for a friends birthday.  I love the clean and simple look and tried to make it using her favourite colour.  I was able to find a snippet of paper that matched some ribbon that I have had in my ribbon box for at least a year now.  I punched out the butterflies with a punch that I picked up in a craft shop recently and then punched 50 with my Cuttlebug alphabet and number die set.  I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

Butterflies

This is a card I recently made at my cardmaking group.  We just had to take along butterfly punches or flowers and then make a card from the idea provided.  I rummaged around in my stash to find the flowers and also some butterflies that I had left over from a previous project as well as finding a suitable greeting.  The leaves and stems were provided by the person leading the group that day.

I am entering this in the challenge over at Pixie's Crafty Workshop Playground.  She has some super prizes this week and I am going to hope to enter some more cards.
