Swap 2: Card 2

Another pink creation from the latest swap challenge.  It was actually one of the last cards I made.  It was an ideal way to use up some of the offcuts of the papers in the swap.  I only added one small square of my own papers (the stripey one).  I cut the squares using my Cuttlebug die that I had when I bought the machine.  I then cut one of my favourite butterflies using my Marianne Creatables die; I used some of my own card from my offcuts box for this and then blinged it up with a bit of glitter.  I added a small greeting I received in an advent swap parcel.

Swap 2: Card 1

I opened my second swap parcel and had a day of craftiness with my friend on Monday.  After an initial mental block I made six cards from the parcel and was really pleased with them.  I still have another one that I am thinking about, just haven't quite got it finalised.

This card is made almost entirely from the swap parcel contents.  I just added a greeting and a tiny bit of contrasting ribbon. I used Promarkers to colour the stamped image.

Nativity Card

This was a decoupage sheet that I had lying around for quite a while.  I rifled through the offcuts box to find some gold paper and then used a greeting that I had been given during an Advent Calendar swap.

The fact that it is decoupaged does not really show up well in the photo, not sure whether that means I am rubbish at photography or brilliant at decoupage  lol.

Swap 1: Card 4

This is the final card I have made from the swap.  I had two copies of the same image except one was with a border and the other not.  I just mounted the second image on foam pads to give it a bit of height.  Backing card and paper was from the swap too; the only thing I added was a greeting and I cut an offcut of the backing card to mount it on to.

So far I have really liked the cards I have made, they have been my style and like them all for different reasons.  I have a few more thoughts with the remainder of the contents of the swap and so will be able to make another 3 cards I think.

I am really pleased with the swap because although I got more stash I have also used some of my stash that has been hanging around for ages.

I have started on the second swap parcel and already have 4 cards planned and more in the thought process.  I will post those next week.

Swap1: Card 3

This swap has surpassed my expectations in generating a bit of crafty mojo.  Today I have been toying with the remainder of the swap and I am now sure I will be able to make another three cards!!!

I thought I would show you the first card I made on the day we actually swapped stash packages.  I just added some card candy which I coloured with Promarkers.

Swap 1: Card 2

This is the second card I made from the same piece of paper in my swap parcel.  I loved that paper and was so glad I could get two cards out of it but the trouble was I couldn't think of a different style card.  So here it is, variation on a theme, using my favourite Marianne Creatables butterfly die!!!!!

Swap 1: Card 1

Two friends and I decided to do a monthly swap throughout 2013 in the hope that it would rejuvinate our crafty mojo!!!  We decided that our parcels would be themed and that we must keep them within the limits for large second class postage.  The other requirement was that all the contents must come from our stash and we must not spend anything other than postage.

I have opened one of my January parcels but because of the snow was unable to visit Ramsgate and act as postie for the other one.  I look forward to it arriving via the Royal Mail during the week.

The theme for the January parcels was "co-ordination" and the parcel I opened was based on browns and colours that co-ordinated with it.  It is always a challenge to make cards from things other people have chosen and even more challenging when you are making them with the person who has given them to you.  To be fair, though, she had to do the same.

I set the contents of my swap parcel on the floor and started moving things around until I was happy with ideas for the first two cards.  I only used one or two of my own bits to complete the cards and these were mainly greetings and card candy.  It was very useful to spark ideas of each other.  Since then I have made two more cards out of the parcel but this time did have to add my own toppers as they really were my favourite ideas for finishing the cards.  There are still more bits to use and I have ideas running round my head but just can't get them to come together ..... one day they will.  Meanwhile I have put the bits to one side because they will be used some time.

This is card no 1 of the two cards that I made when I returned from my friend's house.  I thought I would put this one on my blog first as she hasn't seen it yet.

The patterned paper and the backing paper came from the swap parcel  and the flower and greeting came from my own stash.  The flower was made by using scraps of vellum and white card, some of which I embossed. So success; with this swap I have used up two items from my stash!!!

Heart

A quick and simple card made from a backing paper I was given as part of a swap; a sliver of white copier paper that I punched on both long edges to make it look like white daisies; a piece of saved pink ribbon from a box of blank cards I had bought and then the heart and tag were from the Vintage Notes set by Papermania which I bought last weekend.

Woo hoo

I was really pleased to be picked as a Top Three in the December Bizzy Becs monthly Challenge.  It has been quite a while since I last entered cards into challenges and so glad it was one of my favourite cards that was chosen for this award.  You can see the card in my previous post - Golden Tree.  There is a lovely prize of a Memory Box Die for the January challenge so I really must try and enter.
