Baby Alphabet Afghan Blanket

The birth of our third grandchild is getting closer, only about 10 weeks to go.  Time to get out the needles and threads and start cross stitching the alphabet blanket or I will not get it finished on time.  I took the pattern out last night and sorted out what threads I needed and sent off an order.  With luck they will be delivered in the next day or two and I can get stitching.

This is the design I am going to do

Circles

I was sorting through some old birthday cards and found this image which I cut out with my Cuttlebug. I also used the greeting from the front of the card.  I scrabbled around in the snippets box to find some toning card which I cut out with the Cuttlebug.  Some nice sky blue paper and an embossing folder with little circles completed the components for the card.  I thought the image was really cute and the colours and the flowers helped to make it spring like.

Blue Flowers

My crafty mojo seems to have deserted me at the minute, or perhaps it is more I do not need any more cards at the moment and so don't have the incentive to make them?  I am sure that wasn't the reason I chose blue, I don't feel blue but I just happen to have some snippets of patterned blue paper that I could stamp with my flower stamp.  I rummaged round amongst the other snippets for the other papers and then found some suitable ribbon. I used my Cuttlebug to cut the sentiment and the scalloped layer beneath.

Bear

I raided the snippets box and came up with the card for the flowers cut with my Cuttlebug and the backing card for the layer which I punched with my Martha Stewart punch.  I stamped the image and coloured using my Promarkers and then mounted on a snippet of pale green card.  They were all mounted on another piece of brown paper from my snippet box.

Dandelion

I made this card at my card club during March. I cut the patterned paper so it fitted the turned down corner of the base card.  The image was coloured with chalks and then highlights added with Glossy Accents before layering it and mounting on the front of the card.  A toning paper was used for inside the card and a greeting was stamped on a Nestability shape (can't been seen in this photo).

Easter Card

A fairly simple card but I love the colours and it symbolises my faith - flowers of new life and the cross.  I used a few more snippets for the greetings.  The gold paper behind the image is something that has been in my paper store for several years now.  I bought a pack of gold sheen type paper and it has been so useful for behind images.
